Rates are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) and include VAT. Rates are subject to change. Although prices are confirmed at the time of booking, we reserve the right to adjust prices following unforeseen input cost increases. Rates shown include VAT @ 15%.
Provisional Bookings
Due to the popularity of The Pafuri Traverse, bookings are held provisionally for 24 hours only, after which time the booking will be released or must be confirmed. A 20% deposit is required within this period to confirm the booking. This deposit is non-refundable.
Fastest-Fingers-First Principle
Bookings operate on a fastest-fingers-first basis. Availability is confirmed on a first-come, first-served principle.
Confirmed Bookings
Once the 20% deposit has been received, the booking is confirmed and held with the status ‘CONFIRMED WITH COMMITMENT.’ No refundable-deposit stage applies to Traverse bookings – the deposit is non-refundable from the point of confirmation.
Final Payment
Any outstanding balance on the total reservation value shall be required to be settled 60 days prior to arrival.
Failure to pay the balance within this period will incur a late payment penalty calculated as 3% of the booking total, compounded every week the payment is outstanding.
The amount stated on the invoice needs to be received by RETURN Africa in full prior to the guest’s arrival.
All bank/credit card charges are to be settled and recovered by the guest.
Payments must be made in ZAR. Extras can be paid for at the property by cash, Visa or MasterCard.
Cancellations
Once the 20% deposit has been paid, the booking is final. No cancellations are permitted, and the deposit will not be refunded under any circumstances, outside of the Pandemic Clause below.
Pandemic Clause
RETURN Africa will allow postponement of a booking for up to 12 months if travel is impacted by a WHO-recognised pandemic directly impacting the guest’s ability to travel (e.g., lockdown, no flights, guest not allowed to board a flight, guest falls ill due to a pandemic and unable to travel).
In the event of a WHO-recognised pandemic directly impacting the ability of RETURN Africa to meet its obligations with respect to the booking, all monies received, including the deposit, will be fully refunded (e.g., lockdown in RSA, government restrictions on trade). Any refund is given at the discretion of RETURN Africa management, and a 3% handling fee will be charged.
Insurance
All travellers are strongly advised to take out travel insurance cover and emergency medical insurance.
Age Requirements
The minimum age for participation in The Pafuri Traverse is 16 years. Younger participants, aged 12 to 15, may be considered on a case-by-case basis, subject to maturity, physical readiness, and prior wilderness experience. Final approval rests with the guiding team.

Minimum Charge Clause
Trails priced for 6 guests minimum. Groups with fewer than 6 participants will be billed at the 6-person minimum rate unless a Solo / Small-Group departure date is selected or approved.
