At RETURNAfrica we welcome guests from all over the world, excited to share this beautiful part of South Africa in the north of the Kruger with them. We pride ourselves with what we have on offer. Including our luxury designer accommodation, Pafuri Camp, our rustic accommodation for the more adventurous wishing to see nature on foot, the Pafuri Walking Trails, our flexible option, Baobab Hill Bush House, the landscape, activity and views!
Even though the Makuleke Contractual Park, as Pafuri is also known, occupies only 1% of the total park area, it contains 75% of the total park bio-diversity, now that’s a lot in one area! Our region is also famous for bird watching and over 450 species of birds have been recorded in a year.
City life demands a fast pace, and this includes rushed breakfasts. That’s one of the reasons that, at Pafuri Tented Camp, we introduced our lazy bush breakfasts. These take place about once a week, weather permitting, in a secret location that changes from week to week. Sometimes in the Fever Tree Forest, other times along the Limpopo River, other locations too secret to mention.
In the morning our guests start with the normal routine of an early wake up to go out for the morning activity accompanied by one of RETURNAfrica’s master guides to enjoy the landscape, sightings, history of Makuleke as well as have the opportunity to see remains of what was once Fernandez store, ancient Makuleke burial sites, Crook’s Corner or Lanner Gorge.
Instead of returning to Pafuri Camp at around 09:30/10:00 o’clock, guests are taken to the bush breakfast site where they will find Chef Donovan (also known as Chefie D) and his kitchen team waiting to surprise them with an extraordinary experience. Just imagine sitting in the fever tree forest listening to birdsong and watching elephants move in the distance through the magical green forest.
We hope that these magical moments shared with our experienced team will be a lasting memory until your next visit!
The safety of our guests is of paramount importance and guides accompany their guests to breakfast in the bush. This is at no additional cost to our guests. For more information please get in touch with our reservation’s office on reservations@returnafrica.com or 0116461391.
